Think of a day in Hohenwald at a slower pace enjoying the Buffalo River, streams and waterfalls, and beautiful forests, easily visible from the Natchez Trace Parkway, a national park motor road. Step back in time at local shops or at sites exploring the rich history of the area, such as the grave of explorer Meriwether Lewis, Captain of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Walk in the footsteps of Andrew Jackson, Aaron Burr, Thomas Lincoln and countless other early Americans along the old Natchez Trace. Rent a horse and take a trail ride through the lush Tennessee countryside.
Few other places have such a diverse mix of sites all packed into a small area – an Amish settlement and General Store, award-winning wineries, working Alpaca and horse farms, a 1960’s era commune, a natural history museum, antique shops with small town prices and numerous hiking trails. Get away from it all and back to your roots, just an easy drive from Nashville, Memphis or Birmingham.
Hohenwald is a great place to spend a day. But of course, once you’re here, you may want to stay longer.
