Hohenwald attracted artists long before Grand Ole Opry Hall of Fame member Rod Brasfield made it his home in the 1950’s. Today, noted author, William Gay, and painter, William Logan, are just two of the more visible members of the arts community located here. On a visit to Hohenwald, you may catch a glimpse of the work of other artists who work in media from basket weaving to mosaics. The Hohenwald Arts Council hosts shows of the work of local artists and in the summer, performances at the Bandstand include “Shakespeare in the Park”.
The Hohenwald Arts Council operates the Strand Art Gallery and the Strand Theatre on Main Street.
