Recreation

There is no better way to take advantage of living in the great outdoors than to hike, canoe, bike, hunt or fish – the same activities that draw tourists are available to local residents throughout the year. More organized activities include tennis leagues, softball leagues and for young people, football, soccer, basketball, baseball and softball teams. The Memorial Park walking trail is a favorite gathering point for early morning and evening walks, as well as place to catch up on local news or play shuffleboard.

The Hohenwald Municipal Golf Course offers nine challenging holes and this summer, a new driving range will open. The city is on the Biking the Heartland state bike route and the Natchez Trace Parkway is part of a national bike trail system. Each year, the Senior Citizens Center sends a delegation to the Senior Olympics.
